This is great fast food. The burger was so yummy. It was fast, nicely priced and really good. I've never had good fast food and I'm hooked. Wish there was a Smashburger in Montana!

I love this place. Great selection and everything is good I miss having a little more seasoning on their sweet potato smash fries but I still love them

Cool place for burgers! If I wasn't short on time, I would have built my ultimate burger. Instead, I chose the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger with smash fries. The burger is incredibly fresh-not like the machine cut frozen junk at the typical burger joints. REAL beef!!! They form their patties by hand. And it shows. This was better than any burger I've cooked on my own grill. Amazing!!! The egg buns are soft, fresh, and de-lish. Best burger I've ever had. We will be back!

Burgers were good. Ordered the Bee Hive. It was a little more pink than I was expecting so if I ever go again, I'll be sure to specify. Wasn't thrilled with the sweet potato fries, but I LOVED the Smash Fries (rosemary, garlic, and olive oil).

Good burger and friendly staff. Was driving through on my way from Chicago to California and stopped for dinner. This was the first Smashburger I've eaten at but based on my experience I would definitely eat at another given the chance.

The burgers are quite good! The fries were not mind-blowing...but definitely better than average compared to the other burger joints in town. The burger itself is probably the best part about the restaurant. Which...is good...seeing as it's in their name and all. Definitely going to visit this place again.

Took forever to bring food, hostess was snotty and bored, and they were out of fried pickles!! That was the whole reason we went there. Burgers were tasty as always, but the fries were cold. Probably because they say out while burgers were cooking.

I heard Smashburger has a gluten-free bun option so I gave them a try. My wife was home ill and said she really craved a good burger. Net-net: Decent food, with lots of customization options, and some gourmet sides. Quite expensive (two deluxe burgers with fries and one shake, $24. Their online ordering is slick and easy to use -- at least on the web side. But when I went to pick up my order things didn't go so well. Sort of a comedy of errors. I got a confirmation saying my order was received, and that it would be ready at 5 p.m. as requested. I walked in (bummer - no drive-up) at 4:57. Right off the bat things didn't seem right. A fast-talking know-it-all guy at the front register said no biggie, that he doesn't get the order often until 5 min. beforehand (purposeful delay?). Then he said his terminal clock was behind by 7 min. (Another employee came out later grousing about the same thing...odd in this day and age.) A few minutes after I arrived, my order showed up on his terminal and I paid. When the order came out I asked the girl to double-check that my wife's burger had the gluten-free bun. The bag was noted that way, but alas, the burger inside had a normal wheat bun. The remake took longer than the first time. I finally left 15 min. late -- almost 20 min. after I arrived. A very nice and conscientious girl who was dealing with the cook staff offered me another drink and an extra side for my inconvenience. She seemed to care and wanted me to be happy. That was nice. Will I go back? Not in a hurry, that's for sure. There are quite a few good (and less expensive) burger joints here in St George.

It's like red robin meets in and out burger. Good quality food and nice atmosphere, definitely a step up from fast food without the sit down prices. The vegetarian black bean burger, sweet potato fries and mint shake were all delicious. Food was presented well and the staff were friendly.

This is a big location with a lot of seating. Oddly enough I did not order a burger. I ordered the Buffalo & Blue Cheese Chicken Sandwich with breaded chicken. It is a large portion. The buns are good. The chicken and sauce also added good flavor. I would have liked more blue cheese, but overall it was fine. We also ordered the Spicy Buffalo Fries. These were a nice surprise. They are covered in buffalo seasoning like a dry rub. I was expecting them in a sauce but enjoyed them the way they prepare them. Next time I will have to try one of their burgers since it is their speciality.

This was our first visit to any Smashburger and we were very satisfied! It wasn't very busy but the staff was super friendly and upbeat and the restaurant was very clean. It didn't take long for our food to come out and it was soo delicious! I got the avocado club burger with smashfries. The burger was juicy and flavorful, perfect amount of bacon and avocado, and the smashfries were just simply amazing. They were perfectly sized (I'm not a fan of thick cut fries), crispy, and probably the best fry flavor I've had (olive oil, rosemary, garlic). I wanted to get more to go but I resisted. It isn't exactly cheap fast food, but the quality and taste is worth the price and ~$10 a person is pretty good anyway. Loved it, we would definitely return!

Packed place all the time, but because we all liked smash we went in as we needed a stop from our road trip. We felt sometimes weird going in because we looked crazy in front of all those people, that looked so family oriented, with you know, conservative sense of fashion, and very clean cut... and here goes this group of hooligans dressed up all crazy, but really just urban looking, but we felt crazy. haha. The service was a bit slow, but it was expected since it was packed the whole time we were there. The taste, was as tasty as Smash can be. Pretty Delish.

I usually love smashburger so I think it might just be this location. We called in an order. They forgot out shake so we had to drive all the way back to get it. When we opened the kids hotdogs the buns were solid as a rock, literally couldn't cut them with a knife. We told the staff and they said it was our fault because they cooked it and then it waited for pickup (even though we were 3 min early on our 15min time). We asked what we were supposed tondo and they said sorry they couldn't help. My burger had no lettuce or tomato and the bean burger was mushy. Worst smashburger ever.

When we walked in it was very clean, streamlined, and modern looking. At first I couldn't figure out what was so different about this place and then it dawned on me that you could not see the kitchen when you are there. Off to the side is a little window that the food comes out from and the server picks up your order and brings it out fresh and ready. I got the Classic Smash burger and it was amazing. The patty was a decent thickness and so moist and juicy! The fries are super skinny ( I personally prefer thicker fries) but good. My daughter got the Smash fries and they were delish! My other daughter got the Baja Cobb. She liked it however it came with hardly any dressing so we had to ask for more (which they were happy to bring out). Overall, it was really good and we will for sure go back. Be sure to get a burger...mmm...so good!

KEEP IN MIND, I'M A VEGETARIAN! I've known about this Smashburger for a year or two, but last time I checked, they didn't have any vegetarian burger options. So when I heard that they finally did have black-bean burgers,, and a $1 off coupon for them on-line, I printed out the coupon & rushed to the St George Smashburger for a late lunch. I got there at about 3PM on a Thursday, and they were busy, but not packed. That was fine with me, as it gave me time to look at the menu. While I am a vegetarian, I *do* like stuff like cheese, onions, etc. on my veggie burgers, so instead of just ordering their plain Black Bean burger, I ordered their Mushroom Swiss Burger, with the black bean patty, plus their Smash Fries & a small fountain drink. My total bill (factoring-in the $1 off coupon) was $9.51. They handed me an order # sign and my soft drink cup, and I sat down & waited for my food, meanwhile, trying to access their wi-fi with my iPad. I can't remember now if Smashburger did not have wifi running, of if the signal was secured, but because I was able to access an open wifi from a nearby AT&T store, I didn't concern myself with it. About 10 minutes after placing my order, it was delivered to me. Unfortunately, the black bean patty left a lot to be desired. Over the years, I've had hundreds of them, at restaurants, cooked at home, etc. but this one from Smashburger was pretty lame. Unlike all the other ones I've had elsewhere, this one had no seasoning or flavor to it. The taste & consistency was simply black beans held together by black bean paste, shaped into a burger patty. Even with the mushrooms & Swiss cheese on it, the plain bean flavor (what little flavor their was) took prominence, and the patty basically broke apart in numerous places. I realize this should mean NOTHING to you if you're not a vegetarian -- obviously, this place exists to serve meat & I understand that. The black bean burger for them is clearly just an afterthought that wasn't very well evaluated flavor-wise by the corporate chef or a tasting panel. The Smash Fries were OK, but I think the quantity of them should have been about 25% greater (but, I eat a lot...). The current photo showing a basket of fries are NOT the Smash Fries... Unless I just got a 'defective' black bean patty, I hope/expect other vegetarians will politely voice similar complaints, and I know the Black Bean patties are a new option for Smashburger anyway, so I figure I'll try the place again in 6 months or so to see if their Black Bean burger patty has better flavoring & consistency. The good news is that I'm about to review their primary competition - an Apollo Burger franchise just opened across the street & their veggie burger patty was much better.

Justin and I LOVE this place. It would get five stars if it weren't for a female employee that frequently takes our order who has an attitude problem. We will usually split an Oreo shake. Let me just say... best Oreo shake I have ever put in my mouth. Everything about it tastes GOOD, unlike other places where it tastes like the Oreos are stale. I love getting the avocado burger, and am especially pleased that it comes on a wheat bun. The seasoning on the fries is so delicious, and they taste even better dipped in fry sauce. Other menu options are chicken sandwiches, salads and kids meals. This restaurant is so much different from you regular burger chain. The ambiance and presentation of the food is wonderful. Do I daresay that these burgers are healthier than average? Either way, this will always be my go-to place if I am in the mood for a shake or burger!

Don't order fries to go online. I was 3 minutes early so I would hopefully get them fresh. Not my lucky day for fries. Being shoe string style they a life span of about 2 minutes before converting to grease sticks

Amazing burger for a great price. They sod mesh up my order a bit but I lived. The chili fries were a bit lack luster as well. All in all we will go back for the burger.

Not impressed. Hubby wanted a milkshake and noticed a Smashburger off the I-15 so off we went. (This was 3/30/2012.) He was the only person in the place and there were 3 teenage staff members killing time by chatting amongst themselves and making milkshakes for themselves. Not cool. Not only did the one girl make 2 shakes for herself and her staff person friend, hubby was told by the third staff person that his shake will take at least 5 minutes to make. What? He ordered his shake TO GO. After some time, during which hubby watched these shakes being made for the Smashburger staff, (~10 min) hubby asked for his money back and explained why, to no avail. Smashburger should seriously reconsider and re-evaluate their staff training and etiquette. Those kids behind the counter were stealing product from the company and leaving a sour taste in a formerly enthusiastic customer's mouth.

We tend to always stop here when we're heading back to Vegas. I really like the truffle mushroom swiss chicken smash. It's always juicy and delicious. They also have great sweet potato fries. Since I don't eat red meat, I can't firsthand say how they're burgers taste, but I can say that they look tasty. The staff was friendly and service was pretty quick. This is definitely our go to lunch spot after having fun in Utah.

I am on a quest to find a burger place that has the ultimate trifecta...perfect burger, fries, and shake. Unfortunately for Smashburger, they did not pass. I ordered the American with cheese, and while I thought the burger was good, the fries were a disappointment. I love that they are seasoned with rosemary, but they become really soggy very quickly. If you don't consume them all in the first 10 seconds, they are no longer crisp tasty fries. I did notice that each location has a special burger they offer on the menu that is unique to that location, which is really cool. For example, here they offer the Beehive which is a burger with bacon and BBQ sauce. In San Diego they have a burger with cilantro, avocado and spicy mayo, and in New York they have a pastrami with swiss cheese and pickles on a pretzel bun.

$9.95 for an Avocado Chicken Club Sandwich with Sweet Potato fries. A little overpriced, especially since the portions are quite small, and the serving of sweet potato fries were even smaller. The service was good and friendly, though. The waitress asked if we had been there before and gave us some of her recommendations.

Sorry Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Smash burger is my new favorite burger joint. Try the sin city burger and sweet potato fries. You will thank me. Customer service was spot on too! Highly recommended

One of the better burger joints in town. The beehive burger is AWESOME. Their menu items are different than the normal fast food chain garbage that some people are used to. Their food is really good, fries are awesome, they use quality ingredients and it is locally owned, which is a HUGE plus for me. I would recommend it. Spend the extra dollar and skip the grease hole Carls Jr next door!

As a vegetarian I ended up here on the tip they have Sweet Potato Fries. The cashier was very helpful when she let me know they do NOT have veggie burgers, but you can order any of their burgers - sans meat. I ordered the Classic Burger (no meat) and Sweet Potato Fries. YUM! TO DIE FOR! I love egg buns! It was loaded with extra cheese and the usual lettuce/tomato/onion. The fries were great with fry sauce. Much better than Five Guys. Once I got to SLC I realized they have a location in Draper and I've already been.

The burger I had here was excellent. Great attention to detail, especially for a place that appears to be a chain restaurant. The Smashfries were absolutely delicious, rosemary + olive oil on fries = happiness. :)

  • Nick B.

A little pricey for a chain... I thought the Carl's Jr. Six Dollar Burgers were expensive, but $10 for a burger BEFORE the fries? The atmosphere was nice and the food was decent. The burgers fall apart far too easily so ask for a fork. Ask for a water, too, because that burger gets pretty salty by the end. Nothing special, so two stars before you factor in the sweet potato fries... OMFG NOMZ for that third star.

This was pretty crowded when we got here. After ordering it did take a while before we got our food. Presentation looked good. I had the honey Burger which was pretty tasty. The spicy Baja Burger had guacamole and jalapeños in it. It tasted very green. Pretty good but could be a little more flavorful. The paties were good. The yam fries were not so good. They were fried nicely but it wasn't crispy. I want to say it was a little stale. Dissapointed on that. I wanted to try the milkshakes but perhaps another time if we drive there.

I'm going to be brutally honest here. Smashburger offers nothing I haven't tasted before. It's in a tough spot really. In N Out is a quality burger for a cheap price. Five Guys is a great burger for a splurge. Smashburger unfortunately falls in between those places. It's price is more expensive than In N Out, but inferior quality and it cannot compete with Five Guys in terms of choices and overall taste. I had the Beehive Burger -- basically a BBQ sauce laden burger. It was good, but I kept thinking I paid too much for this. The highly touted fries were grossly disappointing. They tasted like McDonald's french fries fancied up by olive oil and spices. Smashburger is an interesting experience. I would suggest trying it for yourself. I honestly wasn't impressed and gave it a few more tries to see if it could change my mind. Three visits and each time I left unimpressed, wondering why did I spend my hard earned cash on it, when I could have spent less at In N Out or got a better quality burger at Five Guys. It's not even a thought in my burger purchasing habits because it's not even worth the once in a while visit. Just a sad tale for a burger joint placed with a ton of hype.

I've been twice and loved my food both times. For a "chain" restaurant, it's the best burgers I've had. The Bee-Hive burger is a great BBQ, bacon burger and the second time I went I grabbed a Spicy Baja burger and loved that as well (although it was a major mess). My husband loves their fries, they are slightly seasoned. And my kiddo loves their shakes. So far, Smashburger is a hit with me.

This was way better than I expected from the reviews and the fast food nature. There e menu for burgers and chicken and salad. My black bean Southwestern style burger with fresh jalapeno slices was delicious on the lettuce with no bun and the chipotle cream. I wish we had one near us.

So my family and I shared Smash fries and Sweet Potato Smashfries. Smashfries are fries with extra seasoning. The seasoning was pretty good, but the fries had a different texture than normal. (I don't remember if that was a good or bad thing.) My sister and I ended up sharing a burger called Beehive and it was delicious. I definitely wasn't expecting it to be as savory as it was. I guess it was mainly due to the BBQ sauce. In any case, it was a good burger. We asked for our burgers to be cut in half and the workers happily filled our request.

This was my first experience going to a Smashburger and I thought it was great because most of the competors (In N out, Five Guys) only have burgers while Smashburgers have Smashchicken, smashsalad, and a few other various smashetc... the food was great and the service was great. The restaurant was busy and clean, the staff were friendly and I would defintely go to another one now that I've experienced the Smashchicken! :)

For St George , this is my favorite . The in & outs have all the flavor of cardboard or styrofoam but I guess they're better than McDs . Also in & outs fries always seem half raw which is Not my preference for a potato . Plus I trust FEW places to have quality meat . I figure most use the lowest end ground stuff from the feedlot cows that stand in manure their entire life . I like Smashburgers Angus burgers with sharp cheese and red onions grilled in olive oil . I also like the choice of buns . The other places are just round wonder bread . The palm oils they use at the other places is eyuuuccckkkk . I like the sweet potato fries in olive oil & rosemary altho form time to time , the potato order is super small . ( management haranging the cooks ? ) Actually the Best burgers come of my grill but Smashburger is good if I'm eating on the run plus I don't do a deep fryer at home .

I went here twice while I was staying in St. George. Their Avocado Chicken Club Sandwich with Grilled Chicken is a must have with Sweet Potato French Fries. It would be a good idea to try a Vanilla Milkshake too because they are super-d-duper good especially on a hot summer day. The place faces the west so in the afternoon and evening it was hot inside the restaurant due to the big windows. I loved the fact that this place was open on a Sunday, I was heading back home and needed a fast and healthy meal before my drive. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. I would recommend more than one bathroom because the times I went I had to wait forever to wash my hands.

This place was very good and I thought it was just a little bit better than Five Guys. Better priced too. The buns are so soft and different than everywhere else. Overall good food and great fried pickles.

I'm really vacillating between 2 and 3 stars on this one. Erring on the side of 3 because the girl working there really tried to work things out. First, we were looking forward to eating here, since it's one of my daughters favorite hamburger places up in Salt Lake City. I usually only go to Smashburger when I have a coupon, because it does get pricey, but we're on vacation, so we came this time around without a coupon, knowing it's pricey, so not docking them there. We ordered the food, and I was given a choice between having the patties cooked medium-well, or well done. I opted for medium-well, wanting my meat cooked but not charred. When all four burgers came, 2 were cooked right, and 2 were still raw in the center. I brought it to the girl's attention, and she was great, took their burgers, returned with new ones, fully cooked this time. But then she explained, if we come in the future, we should know that medium-well will be pretty raw in the center, and that if we want it thoroughly done, we need to order it well-done. That seemed strange to me, but whatever. Cool of her to bring back new burgers, but that seemed weird. Also, the avocado they put on my husband's burger was not ripe yet and hard as a rock, but we were really beyond complaining at that point. Not the best burger experience ever, but they were nice about it all.
